WhipperJ needs our help!

I'm guessing most of you don't know Justin Stirrett, aka Whipper J, but you should. https://www.whipperj.com/About_Whipperj/ Easily one of the kindest guys I know with a sense of humor that makes him the ultimate climbing partner. He's got a proud list of free ascents from around the world and more recently has been involved in route setting and coaching at Western State and a few other places. 

Just a couple days ago he got in a nasty head-on collision while here in the states (ironically not at all climbing related!), and since he's Canadian he has a hefty medical bill to cover. On top of his recent injuries, his wife passed away a few years ago leaving him to take care of their two kids. 

His funds are limited, but the climbing community is huge so help spread the word and consider sending $5, $10, $20, $50, or even a few hundred his way.

Hey TJ. This is really kind of you, sounds like you are a great friend! I'm broke on unemployment insurance or else I'd help.

I suggest you look into the policies of his provincial health care. I know that OHIP (Ontario) will refund medical costs if they would be deemed necessary in Ontario. You still have to pay upfront though and then request reimbursement. Not sure about other provinces.

I hate to be captain obvious, but as a Canadian it is really negligent to travel in the U.S. without travel insurance. It costs like a couple of dollars per day... Of course that doesn't help your friend here but hopefully this comment reminds others to do so. Blue Cross covers you for rock climbing accidents as well whereas not all providers do.
