NYC Gyms Open?

I'll be in NYC for business this week. Are any rock climbing gyms open yet? Which one has a lot of auto belayers for us solo travelers? Thanks!

I believe the only "gym" currently open in NYC is Cliffs DUMBO, which is only bouldering as far as I know.

If you include the NY Metro area, Hoboken Gravity Vault and Chatham Gravity Vault might be included.

Getting to Hoboken is a bus ride or PATH plus a bus in the other direction.

I like Gravity Vault generally.

Chatham currently has 4 autobelays.  Hoboken might have about the same.

Some gyms in New England are only allowing members with reservations. I’d check whatever gym you might find in NYC metro area before just showing up. 

Thanks for all the quick replies. I just talked to Gravity Vault in Hoboken. They have 10 auto belayers. She said a lot of climbing gyms are closed in NYC if they have a fitness gym as part of their facility. 

Not sure where you are coming from, but NY has a quarantine requirement for visitors from most states, so if you meet the quarantine requirements, please do not visit any local climbing gyms.

If you are flying in from NV then you are supposed to quarantine for 2 weeks.  I'm surprised you are flying here to do in person meetings because anyone you come in contact with is also supposed to quarantine for two weeks. 

given how close schools are to opening (private schools are opening mostly in person with public potentially starting in October), I think it's REALLY important that you follow the quarantine guidelines. 

Cliffs in DUMBO are outdoors, so a lot safer. There’s also Rat Rock in Central Park...

Sorry, haven't been on here in a while and just saw the latest messages. No, I'm not doing in-person meetings. I'm an airline pilot so we have layovers in a lot of different cities. Our company keeps us pretty well informed of local, state and country policies regarding flight crews and New York didn't show any restrictions. It said we have an exemption for traveling flight crew. That means we are allowed to go out and eat, work out, etc. We're always very careful about masks and social distancing policies in the places we visit. If I felt the climbing gym wasn't adhering to proper COVID procedures I would have bailed in a heartbeat.
