Looking for suggestions for cheap pants <$50 for climbing trad. Anything expensive will inevitably get ripped to shreds after a few months so not trying to shed lots of $$

Luckily I have this link on my clipboard already after recommending it to some gumbies who were ripping the asses of their shorts open. These are comfy and really durable, if you’re looking for something thinner, try the Patagonia simul alpines https://www.carhartt.com/products/carhartt-men-pants/Rugged-Flex-Rigby-Double-Front-Pant-102802

Cheap: Thrift store.

Solid: 5.11 Stryke pants. Will last ten times longer than other pants. Stretchy and gussetted for high-step moves.  Million pockets.  Plus.... their TACTICAL!

+1 for wrangler outdoor pants. Same function and look with 1/2 the quality of outdoor brand companies for 1/4 the price. Solid deal.

Although I also have a pair of Kuhl Renegades that I have worn for 100+ climbing days and many more hiking days that are still going strong.

Do you guys have Decathlon? Their stuff is the go-to cheap stuff in most of Europe. Grab a handful of Simond pants, they usually have past year's models on sale.

Old Navy is my go to shirts.  If you want to wear chinos, they certainly have them there, but they are not built for scambling.

Cheap ish: Carhartt double knee
Real cheap: Dickies double knee

I like buying the painter version (white) so they're not as hot on sunny days.

I've had really good luck with these:

They have survived manzanita approaches, chimney's, etc for at least two years.  The only issue I've had is the threading is starting the tear but that's an easy fix.

Tractor Supply Co. $14 for a pair of either (slightly) baggy with a carpenters loop or straight(er) leg, tan, Blue Mountain denim jeans. So far I've used them a TON and doing very well!

10/10 would recommend Goodwill. I found a pair of Patagonia pants there for $8. Also there’s always cheap, burly work pants there that’ll last forever. I second never buying “climbing” clothing it’s a rip off

Wear your old work pants that are too ratty to wear into the office.  You'll blow them out in a few trips, but who cares.  Throw them away or cut them up for garage rags.

El Cheapo stretchy pants with zipper pockets from Amazon. The stretch makes them harder to destroy and they are light as a feather.

By your brand new double rack of shiny C4’s and your Arcteryx jacket of course!

But the C4's have to be the ultralights!

carhart b/w dickies.  Expensive climbing pants are nice when it's hot out but the approach needs long pants because they tend to be nice and light, but for spring/fall/winter I feel like I blow through climbing pants fast enough that the savings of the cheaper pants far outweigh the quality of "climbing" or "hiking" pants.

Adidas multi pants are great adidas.com/us/terrex-multi-…

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
