If you have a decent job then you should have no issues. I'm 26 and haven't had parents since I was 14. I'm giving advice that helped me figure this issue out myself, and I'm definitely not a boomer.

The job I had while saving to thru the AT at 26 paid $9 an hour. I'm not sure which side of the argument that supports, but I guess my point is there are many more people to draw on than yourself for understanding the full nature of a problem (people often can't afford hobbies even while working full time).

With that said, your advice is solid. A different job isn't always the solution, but if the end goal is desirable enough you'll probably figure out how to reach it

There. Fixed it.

Often it is because people have too many hobbies that they can't afford to fully support one of them. If a guy likes to climb, but likes his weed and beer too, well, there's only so much money to go around for most of us. I don't have a problem if you like your weed and beer. I'm only saying that often we dilute our cash across several things and then feel poor. I don't know where this guy is at on any of this, and I have no idea whether he's working hard to afford stuff or not. He just wants some deals, and who doesn't. So judging him as lazy and ripping him is out of line. Maybe he is, maybe not. But I don't have any cams to spare, and people climbed hard before they were prevalent, so maybe some hexes and Tricams would be a good alternative.

Queue the Tricams debate.

Why do people feel the urge to comment on posts that are none of their business, I will never understand. He's asking about cheap cams...don't have any cheap cams? Then shut up. The title is very specific and this is the buy/sell thread, not the poor climber discussion board.

OP- I will have some cheap cams available in a month or so. You can message me then and we can work something out.

Why we do this is none of your business.

You know if everyone just ignored the thread it'd just drop off the front page and out of mind.

But then again, I'm a hypocrite and chose to comment and thus bump the thread.

Good luck with your hunt; whether it be for cams or a job based on the MP community advice!

Also it's definitely a terrible idea, but PayPal and other services offer extended monthly payments. So you can get cams now, and budget pay for them over time.

Why would that be a terrible idea? I use that feature many times per year when I'm making certain purchases I can't get points or cashback on.

50$/cam isn't cheap.  A good deal, maybe. But most of my cams I bought on here when building my first rack have been 20-30$ apiece.
