Climbing in Red Rocks? Covid

The announcement from the Governor's office this week hinted that certain outdoors activities are being allowed, but I don't see any specific lists posted... ?

At some point we may have to start thinking for ourselves.  One day it's banned, one day it's not going to be.  The virus won't vanish in a split second between those dates, when the clock strikes midnight.  Hopefully the climbing coalition are coming up with some guidelines/suggestions.  The whole argument that we're not climbing to save hospital beds doesn't hold water any more [in Nevada].  The remaining prevention issues are addressed on an individual level.  Sanitizer (often) and treating the rack/draws/rope/climbing holds/rock as contaminated are the starting points, for those curious.

All of these activities are allowed as long as they're done only with members of your household and if you maintain a distance of six feet from others.

You know, I hope, that Nevada isn't part of California?

Judging by how the more vocal proponents of #stayhome on MP post, it would seem like some folks didn’t know they were allowed to even look out the window.

Just imagine what the rest of below-average-intelligence-America believe they weren’t (aren’t) allowed to do.

I mean, there is certainly inherent risk in mowing the lawn. What happens if you slice your foot or hand doing something dumb, go to the ER, and send the healthcare system careening into an unrecoverable state of overwhelm?

Anyone else think it's weird that the government would even mention some of these things?

I can't imagine any scenario, however outlandish, that would lead the government to ban meditation.  Are there people out there that didn't know they were allowed outside to take a picture of the sunset, or mow their lawns?

Sinropa, have you watched the news? There are men armed with semi-auto rifles wearing tactical gear storming the statehouse in MI to complain that they're not allowed to go drink at their local bar. Clearly a portion of America has trouble discerning between being asked to stay at home for public health reasons and being "unfairly imprisoned."

Lawn mowing and gardening has been banned by the Michigan governor for weeks now as ridiculously stupid as that is be glad not to live there

This is kind of not true. One can mow their lawn and garden to their heart’s desire in Michigan. However, garden supply stores are closed.

The list is very specific to counter the “Stay The Fuck Home Police,” who would shame anyone for engaging in any activity that was not specifically “allowed” in any public health order.

Michigan stay at home order is RIGHT HERE. It doesn't say that. In fact it specifically allows outdoor activities.

They have updated the order numerous times if it’s changed in the past few I don’t keep up with it. Take a look online at photos the garden aisles at places like Home Depot were blocked example above.  The point is that’s likely why California is mentioning it’s allowed

Proof people are idiots and need the government to tell them what to do. They show up armed to protest public health measures while others (Adam W) bitch about shit that never even happened. Idiot!

I can see why OP wanted people to stay on topic.

Those orders close most public places , public land, and most private businesses.

And are perfectly legal.

Voiding the first amendment.

nope.

That’s far in excess then a bar. Thats de facto imprisonment.

You are an absolute moron.

Law is nuanced.  Protecting the common good (declarations of emergency, which is what is declared nation-wide) is one of those areas.

You cannot murder someone, but you are allowed to kill them in self defense.  Nuance.

Deuteronomy, Exodus, and...nuance! A special blend. I love Mountain Project.

Vegas exists in its current form because of Cali greed and wealth. And Cali doesn’t have legal non Indian casinos , gambling because of Nevada lobbying. In a sense Vegas is a distant suburb , colony of Cali.

So you think CA law applies in NV?

LOTS of people out hiking at the few remaing RR trailheads, not many climbers. Its a zoo. Stay away. The usual limestone spots, I've seen maybe one or two other parties. Nobody at keyhole. Charleston has lots of tourons and they are limiting highway access.

Congress shall make no law prohibiting the right of the people peaceably to assemble.

What law did Congress make?

constitution is supreme and over state law.

Is that the same Constitution that defined slaves as 3/5 of a human? You are advocating for that.
