Semi-educated predictions on when we can climb?

People need to stop thinking the democrats are the party of the people. They arent. The republicans and democrats are literally on the same team, the problem is, most Americans are as dumb as they come and believe the Dems will take care of them, even after they have proved for decades that they wont. |

I voted for Trump so I could stick it to HRC - a truly evil person who expected to win “just because it’s my time”... and her and friends worked hard to corrupt the system that brings up the nominees. |

Trump wasnt the answer to that call, Dr Jill Stein was. I'd rather have "the outsider" be a nice, in touch person who cares about the environment and human life, and who is obviously smarter than the average joe, rather than some idiot with a 9th grade reading level, who's a spoiled rich kid, and a sociopath, and a pathological liar, and who has managed his own money so horribly that he's lost many many millions of his inheritance before he learned how to scam the Forbes list and many major banks. He's the epitome of the term "failing upwards". He's a crook, and he, along with Chuck and Nancy, just gave away the rest of the money they weren't able to give away in 2009 when Obama was handing it out to the rich. |

The vast majority of the world is able to obtain happiness from things that do not require massive debates and violating current stay at home recommendations. Climbers are just one group of primarily Western white males who can't imagine a world where their hobbies do not dictate their entire lives and are not willing to make a temporary sacrifice for the greater good. They are willing to assume they are the ultimate at assessing risk and will do anything to justify their resulting behavior. And just because there are still people climbing doesn't mean those people are not somewhat narcissistic and selfish. This is literally the first time in any of our lives where we have all been asked to do one simple thing. We aren't going to war, we are not being drafted, we are being asked to maybe stay home and hang on an edge instead of climb for a few months. |

Hillary apparently carries hot sauce everywhere, and Biden thinks you can shoot a shotgun into the air to scare intruders. They all are scumbags. Please let me know of a politician that doesn't play on fears, make promises that they can't keep, and have stupid catch phrases? |

Clinton embodies some of the worst aspects of Washington DC politics. She is a neoliberal hawk in the worst way and tends to be behind just about every regime change war or coup the United States has orchestrated in recent years. Her record as Secretary of State was atrocious and she had a LONG history of supporting devastating military interventions in the past. It has nothing to do with the damned e-mails. |

This is exactly what I mean, she hasn’t done anything that a Republican hasn’t done. Vietnam, Gulf War, IraqPeople are really surprised that politicians at this level go after special interests? Or the article you quoted about overthrowing Godaffi, what’s so different about that than overthrowing Sadam? Or fighting communists in N Korea? Now keep in mind I’m not trying to promote Hillary, nor am I saying that I would be thrilled to have her in office, but I just don’t get why people seem to hate her so much. I’m sure this is my post limit so I’ll be back in the AM |

She's a woman. Trump and his supporters HATE that, unless they "behave." |

But the GOP has done so much more bad than Clinton has. If you can't see that you are dumb. |

Max Manson wrote: Stanford researchers have been doing a lot of antibody testing lately and (not surprising at all) are finding out that WAY more people have had the virus than previous estimates. I think they found that in their test pool, 50-85 times more people had the antibodies than the models said. Meaning the death rate could be 50-85 times lower. The testing is not exact, and it was just in the Bay Area, but it definitely shows the estimates were way low. I’ll find the link to the actual study. Maybe I’m being too optimistic, but hopefully as we learn more things like this, the process of getting back to normal will speed up That study hasn't been peer reviewed yet, and preliminary peer review says it's garbage (only they said it more nicely and with more numbers). Source (which contains links to other sources). To make matters worse, one of the co-authors of the study also manages a hedge fund, and wrote this op-ed in the Wall Street Journal which says the study is encouraging for investors without mentioning he's one of the co-authors of the study. Sounds a lot like hiding a conflict of interest. |

Science is a process, a SLOW process, and media outlets are reporting on covid-19 research WAY too early in that process for anything they say to be trusted. Love this. Science is a (relatively, especially relative to most modern digital communication processes) slow process of decreasing our overall uncertainty and of increasing overall confidence in situational understanding and predictive modeling. Science is NOT a quick process of obtaining definitive, absolute, generalized states of belief that make for easily digestible headlines. |

B P wrote: People don’t seem to get that the people who voted for Trump didn’t necessarily love Bush. Yes, there were many traditional Republicans who held their noses and voted but his die-hard supporters are something new. A lot of the more hawkish elements of the Republican Party left to support her because they felt Trump was *insufficiently* hawkish and are now #neverTrumpers. The fact that people like Bill Kristol recognized Hillary as their chance to invade Iran is telling. Most leftists dislike Hillary for the same reasons they dislike Republicans, but all the more because she co-opts supposedly “progressive” politics while simultaneously promoting extremely aggressive imperialist foreign policy. As far as why the right hates her...IDK. They seem to fixate on Benghazi and are convinced she’s this supreme puppet master who runs pedophile rings and killed Epstein. |
