That’s a tough order.  Hidden Valley has a couple overhanging walls with moderate routes to low anchors.

Crowder's? Don't know, haven't been there, am curious and would go!

This sounds about in line... https://www.mountainproject.com/route/107312479/overhung-and-underrated

The rock type seems like it would hold up for climbing with spotty moisture (i.e. steeper and not so reliant on friction, as with many other in WNC).

Ended up at table rock and had a good day! we live in Boone, so we are not traveling at all, basically our backyard.

My dude, according to your ticks you were in Sauratown that week and that's a helluva lot farther from Apex than an hour...and watauga had 2 confirmed cases at the time, wake had what, 70? Thanks for your input though!

Not saying I agree or don’t with your decision, I made the same decision as you two weeks ago. But don’t pretend it was in your “backyard “. It’s not and Sauratown is not in my backyard either. Yes I went there two weeks ago, before shit was hitting the fan, and before I had time to really think about the consequences of my decision. In hindsight, I regret going, and I have since made the decision to not go anyplace not essential that requires driving at all. You can make whatever decision you think is best, but be honest about it...it’s not “in your backyard”.

PS and apologies, you’re right, I should just keep my mouth shut and not say anything, especially given that I’m just as guilty. Having a case of “trapped in my house” irritability....so cheers and good health, and hopefully good decision making.

I was about to post the same haha, I have since self-isolated and I'm quite cranky and came off much harsher than I meant to, it's an adjustment for us all!  Hope you are healthy and staying sane! we'll be out of this eventually!

There are routes.....just look around. I hear there is a crag hiding under a bridge, like a troll, very near to Boone

Most homes nowadays are rain-proof. I suggest ordering a fingerboard....

For everyone concerned about me going out and climbing, this post was for a weekend trip well before this shit got serious, I'm not going to, nor have I since last Friday, leave Boone... I'm still curious about the info though. And yeah, I have a fingerboard but an outdoor climbing experience that ain't

Does the virus fly out of the car, hustle down the driveway, get in the door, and infect you?

  • Fucks sake everyone calm down!!! I asked a question about where to climb on a rainy day 2 weeks ago, not for people to sit at home pissed off and going after each other online. Let's all just take a cleansing breath and be less aggressive towards each other? I don't even know why this has become so contentious!

"is that how you caught stupid?"

Well, I blame my older brother, or my Dad, actually.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
