IMO there are a lot of shoes that have a wide forefoot, but figuring out your heel width is key.

I second this. Best shoe I've climbed in so far.

Took me a LOT of buying and returning different brands to find a shoe with a comfortably wide toe box but finally found the Tenaya Mundaka.  Fit and worked excellent right out of the box.

If you are looking for a really soft gym shoe the Scarpa Veloce is quite wide in the forfoot. I needed to downsize a LOT, La Sportiva sizing.

I'm down to my last two pairs of five ten Verdons. I found them pretty bunion friendly. I want to eventually try Red Chilli but we don't have anyone around here who carries them. I am not sure REI does either. I've heard about Unparallel is keeping up with the older models (five ten no longer makes the verdon), but I haven't tried seeing if I can get a bunch shipped since no one local also carries those. Either way, I usually go a size bigger which means a sloppier fit. But it's my bunion that decides what shoe I wear, not the style of climbing.

Maybe someone can convince Altra to start making climbing shoes.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
