" Stay local, limit recreational travel ... "
Seems that if the above advice was to be followed, you'd already know ... b/c you'd be local to the crag.

What's the difference between:
"Stay the fuck home," and
"Stay home"? Nine months.

Hi all, why would someone ask a question like that? when all one has to do is look up weather on MP for Jailhouse! and why would one ask a question like that on this forum when you know people are going to say stay home??? Seems to me unless you have a crag or bouldering at your house in your back yard would be a good idea to just stay home and wait to go climbing for awhile!, Me I am super lucky, I have super fun bouldering in my back yard here in Oakhurst :-) but its been rainy and snowy the last week and cold :-( !!! Please stay home and stay safe and healthy happy climbing Mike A. Ps this virus BS will pass soon and the sun will come out and we all will climb again (we will all get through this together) :-)

If you don't feel a difference between the two phrases when you say them then there isn't, but if there is a difference in how it feels then there is. The difference I feel is emphasis. All nondirectional cursing adds emphasis to a statement. "Stay home" is a calm statement. "Stay the fuck home" is emphasis. You can't hear the first statement as a exclaimed command because it lacks an exclamation point. The "fuck" in the second statement is an effective exclamation point placed into the context of the sentence and makes an actual exclamation point superfluous. I hope that you were asking a leading question because you felt that difference as opposed to the possibility that you're just policing curse words

I wanted to see someone explain it and you did. At my ripe age, I am past policing curse words.
