How long until climbing gyms close due to the Corona virus?

I'd imagine that climbing gyms will be closing their doors soon due to the Corona virus.  They are already a bit stuffy & sweaty and seem a likely place to become infected.  I predict that in the next few days, most gyms will be closing until the virus in slowed.

they started closing around Boulder and Denver on Sunday and I think every gym in the area is now closed until the end of March

That is a increasingly irrelevant question. People at this point should wisen up and decide for themselves, there shouldn't always be a need for an author ity to decreete what is wise and what isn't.

You should be asking how long until they open again, cause it's gonna be a while

Yeah. All these two week "temporary" closures? Think more like 2-4 months.

You may very well be right.

But that won't work - the world won't stop turning for that long. So we're going to have to figure something out in the meantime....

Got an email the other day, Mesa Rim is closed to the public and they will re evaluate week by week. I’d bank on it being longer rather than shorter.

My gym (Long Beach Rising) officially closed today. Mayor of LA issued many places to close the doors to the public (or with restrictions), including gyms.

A lot of medical supplies can be manufactured in a few weeks.

... a little harder to come up with more medical personnel and facilities.

Albuquerque’s gym closed today through at least  April 5.
