The Krukonogi picks suck on ice but are almost indestructible on rock.

The "suck on ice" part is what I have heard my friends report as well, but for XDreams at least, Krukonogi  has about 5 different picks. The PXO(a) is supposed to be made for ice. Anyone use this model and care to report back?

Or, maybe I am more interested in the PX1(A) which appears to be made for both ice and mixed (spelled Mixt). Any Krukonogi gear nerds out there?

For about 12 days. The stock Camp/Cassin picks are the softest/least durable that I have used. They climb OK but are a very bad investment compared to the Howey picks. I am interested in checking out the Krukonogi ones but would never buy the Camp ones again.

I tried them on the BD Fuels. Same pick different tool. The problem is they are too thick even if they say they are made for ice. If you like shallow placement and hook a lot you might like them.

Krukonogi picks are great drytooling picks but they are just a bear to use on ice, just way to wide. Im personally a huge fan of the Kuźnia Szpeju picks, definitely more durable than howey picks or stock picks, but they climb ice very nicely, also theyre dirt cheap.

Thanks for the beta Kevin. Is there a North American dealer for these picks or do you order through their website?

I believe "Rock and Resole"out of Boulder sells some of their stuff, you might ask them. Also "Vertical Addiction"out of Canada

In regards to some of the previous posts, I decided to take some measurements in regards to thickness.
Krukonogi Cobra pick .165, BD original Cobra pick .182, Eliteclimb Salamandra pick .153, and finally, BD Natural ice pick from a brand new Reactor, .178
These were measured with a Mitutoyo dial caliper, and in thousands of an inch.
I personally like my Krukonogi picks.

Hey Kevin, I just ordered a pair but Canada Post threw them out due to leaking. Can you comment on this?

Hi limdon lan. Canada post is actually a festering pile of garbage masquerading as a mail carrier. Thankfully their customer service department is there to answer you call after leaving you on hold for an hour just to tell you what you can see from the website.

Krukonogi Cobra pick .165, BD original Cobra pick .182,

What pick did you get for your Cobras? I bought a PF0(А) for my Fuels and the pick came in at 5mm  or .197". This was about 4 or 5 years ago

The tip measured 3mm but it tapered really quickly to the 5mm stock thickness. Maybe they changed the design.

I have X-Dream Alpine tools.  It's my first season with the "alpine" designation and I have yet to replace the picks, even though they're quickly "melting" away - fucking Cassin garbage steel.  Anyway, when I replace the picks, whether I choose Howey or Krukonogi, and since my tools have a hammer, would I have to choose a pick option that has an incorporated hammer like the Krukonogi PX1(A)H, or does the OEM X-Dream hammer stay in place when the picks are replaced?  Thanks!

The pre-2019-20 X-Dream Ice pick w/hammer was a one-piece design. The current X-Dream Ice Pick is a two-piece design that includes a spacer in which the spacer can be left in place (standard configuration) or replaced with a hammer. In either case, your replacement pick of choice will need to have its own incorporated hammer.

I measured both styles of my Krukonogi picks: PF3(A)  and PF2(A), and they both measued out at .165

The model numbers are from their website.
The PF3s are only a couple of years old, the PF2s are older.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
