Definitely pick up a pack of super classy looking wrist sweatbands for ~$4. That is what my wife and I use to protect our Apple Watches at the gym and its worked great for the last year or so. We've used them outside a bit as well, although they don't cut it for crack climbing.

I climb all the time with this guy on my Series 3:
I’m also a mover and solar installer and it handles the rigors of both of those jobs. I highly recommend it.

Who is having issues with their apple watch when gym climbing? It's not like you're shoving your wrist in a crack.

I've been using cloth wristbands (in my case, $15/pair from Lululemon—one is in my climbing pack and the other in my gym bag) for a couple of years now without incident. (I still have to take the watch off for crack climbing of course.)

My phone has been in my pocket on every pitch of every big wall and every sport route and every offwidth, chimney, bushwack, hand crack, bitch slap, you name it. It has never once fellen out of my pocket or even been noticeable. What does that have to do with using an Apple Watch at a climbing gym?
