Did you lose your Great Pyrenees/Lab boy at Ibex?
He's living off of climber scraps among the boulders.  He's probably 1-2 years old, plays well with other dogs, and likes peanut butter sandwiches, salami, and water.
He's very skittish around humans and doesn't have a collar.
Sorry for the crap pics, but hopefully they'll help you recognize him.

He might be a working dog from the sheep herds.

It's certainly possible that he is/was a working dog. We scratched our heads at that possibility, but have our doubts.  He was around for at least 5 days (that we know of) with no sign of his handler or herd.
If someone is frantically looking for him, know he's living large on the moonscape.

Also, he's a good boy.

Does the dog have a new rack? Was he from Boulder?

What if he's lost? Should Animal Control be called, in case he's not a "working dog"? They could scan him for a microchip.

There have been posts about this dog since June on various social media. It most definitely is a sheep herding dog who's job is also protecting the flock. There are dozens of herds in the Ibex area and has been that way for over 100 years. So not lost or abandoned - a working dog doing his job.

Just got back from Ibex, there are no herds anywhere to be seen if he's "doing his job", he's slacking hard on that matter. I wonder what's gonna happen when the climbers stop coming for the season...he's literally living off scrapes and when you give him water he drinks the whole bowl. He's definitely on his own out there.

Ah man - my son and I were en route to Bishop and bivied there.  I gave him some water, although he certainly wasn’t hurting too bad as he only drank one bowl.   We were worried about him, but I couldn’t get him to come any closer than a few feet.   I hope he’s comfortable if he is a lost working dog.   I’d participate in a rescue mission if that is what is required (it’ll take me 9hrs to get there, but it’d be worth it).  He’s photobombing a sunrise shot I put on Instagram if anyone is interested @joshdeuto
If anyone has updated beta, please contact me if I can help in any way.  Ibex gets and stays pretty grim soon.

And I also agree - no herds anywhere at this time.

You could cal the blm filmore field office and find out who the grazing permitted is and report the dog. Or Millard county sheriffs

Update: This dog was an abandoned sheep dog. One person reported witnessing a man in a truck (presumably the original owner) throwing the dog out of a truck and driving off.

A few truck drivers were independently stopping along the highway each week to leave water and food for the dog. One driver was in contact with an agency (BLM?), but was unsuccessful in getting resources to secure the dog.

I went out to Ibex two more times this season, but was unable to locate the dog.

I've since learned that the pup was scooped up a few weeks ago and given a nice home after something like 6 months living on his own.

Thanks to everyone who helped piece this together.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
