Going to visit family for Christmas this year in Oakland and wanted to know where there's good winter climbing nearby. Anything within like 1 or 2 hours drive. Sport or trad both welcome. Are there any places that tend to get more sun than others and might be warmer?

Thanks so much!

Seconded on Pinnacles. Mt. St. Helena also has some fun sport climbs and stays warm, although I haven’t been back since the fire.

its the bay area-- eg mediterrean climate-- eg winter usually provide great temps for climbing.

If it's not raining, you have way too many options to choose. If its pouring buckets, go to pinns

Anything below 4000-5000ft usually is game on.

Bay area: great weather wasted on crappy rock.

Indian Rock! Cragmont is up the street and has easy sport and trad.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
