They are more down turned than I am used to and the sole is a bit concave and I knew that before I got them, I am sure they will edge great and with time and break in they will start to smedge and smear better. I usually get a few pair of shoes and have newer for single pitch harder routes and as they break in they turn into my all day shoes. I’m sure I’ll be doing the same with these. Any sizing recommendations? I wear 9.5 pinks, 10 hiangles, 42 TC pros

The problem is, like some have pointed out, the only ones starting threads sharing their experience are those that have had an issue. I've had serval 5.10 climbing shoes that are great, only one pair of moccs had a tear and were easily replaced. 2 Hiagles, 2 moccs, 1 Quantum, and 1 Guide are all amazing and holding up well. I think there's an X/Y graph that would explain wear pretty well. One side would be how hard you climb, with the harder you climb, the more you'll increase wear. The other side would be your proficiency at using your feet. If you suck at technique and you climb hard, you're going to destroy shoes quick, a lot quicker than a proficient climber who climbs 11s.

What size(s) did you go with and how does the sizing compare to other shoes?

My moccs are holding up well. Looks like they've added a little strip of reinforcement fabric to prevent tearing.

TC Pros with Stealth rubber from the getgo sound amazing, and Five Ten tend to fit my feet better than LS...but I like that TC Pros are thin enough to fit into most cracks.

Not really, i think you have to work in the outdoor industry or government. I got it because I’m a fireman. They want a copy of your govt pay stub.

I’ve never used the TC Pros so I can’t really compare but the Grandstone toe box seems taller than the pros but pointier. The toe box seems similar to the Verdon.

Can’t wait to see what the long term reviews are on these, so which one of yous are gonna pay to do R&D for 5.10? Not that they ever listen to their users anyway.

I have been a Five Ten fan since they started and I have to say these shoes are the best built I have ever seen them produce. I have never been impressed with build quality of 5.10 but they always worked and never fell apart on me, it was more a aesthetic thing. These are pretty nice.

Had the chance to try some Grandstones on last night.
Initial thoughts: fit feels very similar to the new Quantums except just slightly narrower in the mid-foot. Good for my duck-footed friends. They're more downturned than the TC Pros (at least initially, who knows long-term), and slightly less stiff. Super plush materials on the uppers - quality seems very high.
My Brannock / Street shoe size: 11.5 d/e. I got the Grandstones in 11.5 and they fit very similar to my 43 TC Pros and size 11 Quantum VCS... slight toe knuckling... IMO a great performance trad fit. No idea if they'll stretch or not.
For reference, I wear quantum laces in 11.5 for all-day multis (big enough to wear with light socks, usually perfectly-sized after my feet are swollen from altitude + miles of hiking). My size 11 Quantums are my all-arounders, and I have a pair of 10.5s in the VCS (which IMO feel 1/3 size bigger than the lace) for my when I hate myself and don't need to do any slab moves.
I'll likely be exchanging the 11.5s for a size 12 (+ 0.5 up from street) to get a won't-need-to-take-them-off kind of fit that will also hopefully be better for finger cracks. For 5.6 and below I usually just keep my approach shoes on, but I'm aiming to have a nice pair for long 5.7-5.9 routes. If I didn't already have my TC Pros in a 43, I'd definitely keep the size 11.5s around as my 5.10+ trad shoe.
