Hey party people,

I’m hoping to do some beginner level toproping this weekend with some folks in the Dacks. Conditions aren’t great so I was wondering if anybody has some suggestions for where we could possibly climb in the rain (overhangs, etc... we have backup plans if not realistic)

I’m also wondering where we could go on Sunday that may be known to dry quickly.

Conditions aren’t the best this weekend but we’re hoping to get some folks on real rock for the first time! Let me know!

What region of the Dacks?

In the Lake George area Shelving Rock has some routes in the Neanderthal Cave area that basically stay dry all the time, I have climbed there in pretty heavy rain without issue. They all need to be lead either sport or mixed though.

Up furtherer there are some toprope-able routes at Beer Walls dry very quickly, although almost everything there will get at least some what wet.

Honestly climbing in the rain and wet is kind of part of the Dacks experience...

Pitchoff dries quickly and the web is climbable in light rain.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
