Broken totem cam repair
|
|
My purple totem has a broken thumb loop. One of the little rubber pieces broke making it so I can't pull 2 of the lobes. I emailed totem and they will make an exception for me and fix it but I have to mail it to Spain. Just wondering if anyone in the US can do it or if anyone else has had this problem. |

had two totem basics break on me and sent them to Spain. Shipping costed about 18$ if I remember correctly. Took about 4 months from when I sent them in to get them back and they charged me 30$ to replace the trigger wires on a green basic and fix the springs on the blue totem basic which broke due to a manufacturing defect. One of the replacements (blue) is still has a weird/clunky trigger pull and probably won't use it. Sorry this probably isn't what you want to hear. |

E Mann no this is good to hear. Just wondering if it is worth it or to just try and rig it myself or even buy a new one if it's going to cost a ton. |

Oh snap! You truly have my condolences and hope you get some good news, but This is like hearing Tom Brady is a real jerk to people in the service industry and I kind of want to heae more! I obviously can’t afford Totems and am a bit bitter. |

I'd buy a bag of black zip ties at the 99 cent story and be back in business in 5 mins. |

zap straps and/or electrical tape would fix that in a jiffy. |

I wouldn't want to deal with the time and money of sending it in. |

I’ve used www.sugru.com to fix cams in the past with pretty good results. Mainly just replacing the cable coating though. If it were my cam I’d give it a shot and see how it works. It’s not a permanent fix but it’s fairly strong stuff and might work for a while if you need it in the near future. |

I fixed mine with paracord and heat shrink wrap |

This just happened to me too, how did it work out fixing it?

I ordered some zip ties, but that’s good to hear electric tape works too |
