Found the five ten Grandstone for sale on this wacky website, is it legit?

I've been eagerly awaiting the release of the new version of the Grandstone shoe from Five Ten. It's been delayed for a while, but a recent email I got from Adidas said they would be available the beginning of September. So when I googled it today, I did find them for sale. However, it wasn't on the Five Ten site, it was on the website Reahal (link below.)

They're half the normal price, and they seem to have all sizes. But seeing as the only other thing for sale on this site is a novelty watermelon slicer, I am understandably skeptical. If this is legit, how did this random website come up on a whole mess of a brand new climbing shoe model that's not even available from the manufacturer? Did part of a shipment get diverted by a shady middleman to his cousin's 3rd rate online retailer? I am confused.

OK- no one loves Grandstones more than me- i've been resoling the same 6 pair for years awaiting the re- release.

The shoes listed on that site look... weird.  Sides don't match, profile doesn't exactly match, , only a quasi- high top with the top incut,  rubber pattern doesn't match.  Information on the website is scant.  I'm a sceptic, so I'm guessing Chinese knock- off.  Personally- I'd wait for an official release in the real climbing world. .

Well, we'll see, I just ordered a pair.  I'll be checking for activity on my credit card and get ready to cancel it if it goes south.

We thought about ordering some just to compare.  I'll let you be the guinea pig Kevin :)  I'm sure something will show up in the mail. Let us know how they look.

Too bad but I probably won't get them in time for the trip to the Whites.

Kevin, you are incredibly brave! The shipping date gives it away. Not to mention the count down clock and stock left reset each time the link is opened.

Maidy, the pictures look to me like the redesigned Grandstones that have been hyped since late last year. I've had my eye on them since then. They could have easily pulled those pics from somewhere online, who knows. The new Grandstones and the previous version (which I've only seen pictures of) don't seem to have much in common other than the name and that it's a high top trad shoe.

I'm really tempted to buy these but I'm worried that I won't be able to return them if the size isn't right.

But if it is a scam, why choose this one specific model of climbing shoe that isn't even out yet? Wouldn't they make way more money knocking off a popular running or basketball shoe? What's the angle here?

It appears the primary offering on the site is a watermelon cutter.  "Nuff said.

Yeah,......NO! Maybe support Unparallele the “real” 5.10. “Throw back high tops/ Blancos” are coming, probably before y’all get your grandstones. Just got my UP Vims (5.10-V10s). Like a perfect combo of vol 1 &2  of that model. And yes the same HF rubber. Will run through/sell off the rest of my 5.10 stock and run UP. It’s the real deal and the quality is there!

That is the new reworked Grandstone that Five Ten has been showing for the past year.  The Old Grandstone you and I have is a thing of the past, the new one looks nothing like it.   Wether or not I get totally scammed is the question.

Apprently that’s where all the 5.10 Piton stock went.  They added extra “leather” over the ankles and called them “Grandstone”

The worse that could happen is it aint real.  Amex has fraud protection.  I have had my credit card number stolen at gas stations before, it's a pain but not the end of the world.  I'll be a guinea pig.

It scares me that you guys think fraud protection actually protects you.

Yesterday got a shipping notification with no tracking number if that means anything. I know they released online in the US today so the timeline seems to fit.

I got a shipping notification also.   I still am suspicious, I called Amex and they said they would handle it if it turns out to be fraud.  A little web search shows that the company and website is owned by Obey Clothing.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
