What are the black marks indicating on the rope?

Looks like the marker for the middle of the rope

Perhaps they asked their buddy what to do with extra gear and was then recommended here? We all start somewhere.

Yeah adnan, we know. Thought it would be informative to see how the just-joined-mp-today guy with the “1 cm” rope explained it, and why there was a double marker on a 30 m rope, and maybe why that 30 m rope looks a lot longer than described. It’s one thing to have suspicions about stolen gear, it’s another to let them confirm it for you

Hey y'all, yes I just joined because I have bunch of this gear I havent used in years, I am moving and wanting to get rid of it and a friend of mine recommended this site. Correction the rope is 60 meters long, the black markers are halfway, and 1 cm is referring to the diameter of the rope. Sorry I'm not aware of climber lingo and what everything means.

How old is the rope? You said you haven't used it in years.

I would also like some more details on the rope. It looks similar to a rope I own that I really like.  Would def consider another. What's the brand/style of rope?  If you don't know the style, could you give a bit more clarification on static or dynamic action?
