Santa Fe questions

I'm in Santa Fe for a conference next week and have Wednesday evening free to climb.  Questions:

1.  Does any place in town (or even Albuquerque) rent crash pads?
2.  Is La Mesilla friendly for a solo boulderer? ( landings, pads needed)
3.  How sketchy is the access at Cactus Heaven?  I don't want to screw things up for locals.
4.  Anyone willing to rope up at Diablo Canyon so I don't need to worry about questions 1-3?

Sweet spot for next week would probably be climbing 5.9-.11 roped and bouldering up to V4.  Thanks!

If you only have Wednesday evening to climb, do not go to the Ortegas. You’ll spend your whole evening driving. La Mesilla is perfect for the solo boluderer for an evening session, many options for good landings. The Scar, 7/11, and Shotgun Wedding would be good for V4 and under, flat landings. You can even borrow a pad or two from me if you want, PM me 

Ahh, I may be a bit biased, but calling the climbing at LM an “acquired taste” and then suggesting Apache Canyon is pretty hilarious. Apache has like 3 problems that aren’t total piles, but it’s worth going if you have acquired a taste for sandy choss! 

OP, Cactus Heaven is on private property owned by a homeowners association, and is open to residents of that community and their guests. It is nowhere near the actual community, however, and I’ve never heard of anyone being asked/told to leave. Special considerations for climbing there have to be taken though, as some of the best rock and best looking features have pictograms on them and should in no way be climbed on or disturbed in any way. They’re neat to look at though. 

Thanks all for answering.  Coming from Washington, I'm pretty well acquainted with climbing on crappy basalt and andesite. The stuff I've climbed on before at White Rock is pretty good, IMO.

My friend Eli on a problem we put up last year at the Wushu Grotto. Its absolutely bullet out there. It’s some of the best basalt anywhere. Happy to make some suggestions for ya Bruno, it’s easy to miss the good stuff if you don’t know where to go.
