I remember hearing storys from my parents of "The Ledge" in Manchester. Was originally the quarry used to make the mills buildings, Then it was a swimming hole until it was filled in. Haven't heard anything about it sense than, Anyone know if there is any possible routes or problems here?! I plan on taking a trip there soon, was just wondering if anyone else had heard of it!

Are you only interested in finding "the ledge" (with which I am unfamiliar) or are you looking for some place to climb around Manchester? If the latter, there is Rock Rimmom in the northwest (I believe) part of town. Definitely not the greatest neighborhood but a surprisingly good urban crag---mostly top-roping but leading is possible. I believe that there are a number of 'locals' areas in the general area but don't know any details--maybe "the ledge" is one of them.

Little bit of both, I know ive been to the ledge before my rock climbing days, I intend on taking a trip out today to check it out, just wondering if others have already climbed there. Ive done some climbing at rock rimmon, other than checking every hand hold for glass, its not to shabby. Mostly looking for any hidden gem in manchester for a good after work spot.

There was a small guidebook to Rock Rimmon, Dumplington Hill, Lake Ledges, Londonderry Boulder and Tower Ledges. I climbed there in the 90s and have a pdf of it somewhere

Paul Boisoneault's climbing guide showed a quarry near MacIntyre Ski Area. You can see it on google maps in terrain mode. When you look at the satellite photo you see it doesn't look worth visiting. Better areas near by are Rock Rimmon (trashy) and Massabessic Cliffs, small but climbable. Park at Fire Rd 54 and hike in.
