I did the same as Derek with grivel aluminum pons.
I threw produce bags over my wool socks to keep em dry. That worked fine to get to south howser

I did the same thing late July of 2013.  LaSportiva Ganda's + CAMP aluminum strap-ons.  And bring a short axe - a long one is a pain on some pitches of the BC.
