STOLEN bolting kit from Universal Wall
|
|
Yesterday someone stole a red Arcteryx FL 45 backpack filled with my bolting gear from the base of my new route (at the bottom of my fixed line hidden behind snow) on the Universal Wall up at Mt Charleston. It included my new Hilti drill with a battery, a left handed Petzl Ascender, a black Petzl Helmet with an Arcteryx sticker on the top of it, a red Arcteryx Harness, a black Yates aid climbing bag with a bunch of glue stuck to it, my yellow gri gri with a metolius locker and a bunch of other stuff like bolts, wrenches, cleaning stuff, etc. |

Super lame! Ugh. Just that drill is a painful amount of $. Sorry to hear about this. Hope you find your gear! |

May be a long shot but is this yours? null |

That's pretty terrible, never condone stealing.... |

PITY THE FOOL who ripped you off. If it was a personal attack, I suggest just replacing all your gear right away and let it go as soon as possible so you minimize any internal damage this entity was trying to inflict on you. If it was some random opportunist, I suggest the same course of action. Forgive and forget, easy come, easy go, right? Harboring anger would be the worst possible outcome here. Good luck dude, you're a legend!! |

Heart breaking.. Really hope this one doesn’t go unpunished. |

I have a call into the Visitor center. But yeah I've spent weeks and weeks working on my routes up there and barely seen anyone - and no one that wasn't a climber. Thanks man |

Plus I am way more focused on just finishing the line and climbing it, opening it up to the community! I lined up a kit to borrow and will finish business today hopefully. thanks again |

I was up at sesame street yesterday morning and did not see your gear at the base of your route. |

Good luck locating your gear, Jonathan. Really awful that someone would take your gear off a project. Members of the tribe are generally very grateful for our hard labor putting up new routes. |

Thanks Gerson, the thing is that my bag was tucked behind the snow so it should have been impossible to see unless you really went right up to the fixed line. The new route is entirely bolted yes, 6 pitches, probably around 13a. I will put it on MP when it's finished (hopefully tomorrow!) |

Man this is such a bummer! Hopefully you get your gear back. Theft is pretty much as low as it gets. |

Jonathan, this is Dan Y over at Desert Rock Sports. I think your bag and gear was just dropped off at the shop. Stop by at your convenience and ID it and it's back! |

I picked up my backpack with all of the bolting gear intact this afternoon from DRS. I don’t know the precise story of how / why it ended up there but I’m really grateful to have my stuff back! Thanks everyone! |
