Where to buy 25/30 cm draws?

I know I can just make my own by purchasing separate carabiners and dogbones, but I'm just curious why I can't seem to find pre-assembled 25/30 cm quickdraws available commercially except for DMM...

Metolius makes some, too.  Prob just the fact that they’re a specialty item and <20cm draws suffice for 99.9% of the climbing market...

If you’re gonna make your own, I suggest using a CE rated quicklink in the middle btw...  probably the cheapest option anyway.

Runout customs will make dog bones in whatever length and color you want out of spectra (light weight non water absorbent) or nylon (better for abrasion).  I had them make me replacement dog bones in double length for the biners off some old draws and I use them on practically every outing. They sewed the bar tack so they keep the rope end biner fixed.

A few of those and some regulars make dealing with drag quick and easy. No pissing around with shoulder slings or alpine draws.

I went with nylon and they can be used as a Prussic if needed.

Why does it have to be preassembled? If you need that length, its become common practice to link two 12/16cm together. Specialty item. I guess if the goal is to save the 10% of having reassembled rather than having separate pieces, i guess that makes a little sense.

you can buy 25cm dogbones from petzl I think, but they don't sell the spirits pre-assembled that way, no idea why.  I don't think the op is talking about linking draws together.

personally if I wan't something that long I use a 60cm alpine draw and I can extend it to various lengths.

I have one of the 25cm petzl ones and never ever use it, it hangs too low off my harness, and ever since I started trad climbing I realized alpine draws are just better for that (and I have a bunch of those now so...)

Huh, different strokes I guess, but I prefer a few of the longer dogbones because having a shit-ton of alpine draws just becomes an unwieldy tangled mess for me regardless of whether I hang them on my harness or bandoleer style.

Agreed!  I carry a few 60cm slings with one carabiner each over the shoulder and use extendable sling cams so that cuts down on the need for alpine draws.

DMM make a pre-assembled 25cm draw.

30 is too long, it hangs down to your knees. But I am like you, I don’t like having a ton of extenders. I do a few slings over my shoulder with a biner each, 2-4 alpine draws, and 4 skinny short draws.

You might like the CAMP Nano 22 20cm draws.

Here’s a pic of the ones I mentioned above.
They are about 2.5x a regular sport draw.

MadRock shorty on the left is 11 cm laying flat.
RunOut Custom “Rasta” draw on the right is about 25 cm.
They’ll do them exactly as long as you want.

He sewed it so  the rope end biner doesn’t spin without need for a rubber jockstrap thing.
You can to ascend a rope in a pinch by larks head in the big loop a couple times around the rope like a prussic and clip your harness to the red biner

25 cm Metolius Slings + Bail biners = Long boy draws for cheap. Tape the rope end carabiner and move the sling every couple months to spread wear. I love these for that quick in-between draw and over the shoulder length. They've become huge staples on my partners and I's rack.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
