Hi,
I’m heading to Costa Rica this month and spend a few weeks.. Looking for recommendations in the area for sport climbing and a climbing partner. Thanks.

Bruh... go surf. No partner necessary.

Yeah world class surfing there. Lots to see and do outside climbing. Look for a local guide to hire if you simply must get out and climb. And be wary of bolts. The climate there will most likely rust out anything but titanium pretty fast.

JoshP's comment above may seem like a joke, but from what I've experienced, just go surfing/exploring. There are a lot if waterfall tours/hikes that you can turn into DWS outings if you want.

Thanks, of course the surf is out of discussion. Just wondering if someone know a few people to contact and go climbing. Thanks again.

Hello! I just bought a condo in CR, near Playa Flamingo. There are a couple of large, accessible ocean walls with decent rock quality very near the condo. Can anyone enilghten me on the rules / laws in CR regarding bolting? I would love to develop a small local area near my place.

Also would be interested in meeting up / climbing with anyone interested when I come down there!

Thanks

Hi Hernán. The only crag that's not gonna be wet this time of year is Escalada Cachí, like an hour and half out of San José. It's pretty much an outdoor climbing gym, all the routes are marked and graded. You have to pay a small fee to enter and need to call in advance if you're going on a weekday.

As for Chris's comment, there are no established DWS spots in the country, as far as I'm aware.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
