Can we get more Gotez on MP?

Only on threads that hit a certain critical mass of idiocy. The antivaxxer thread got a gotez recap just before it got deleted.

Fritz, Thanks for the doses of perspective.  The goatez summary was right on.  Lordy but MP needs more of that.

And Carl is blessed.

Meh, I’d give it the bronze.  Free fall for five seconds -> 122m = 400ft.  So either truly a low gravity day, bouncing on slabs for five seconds, or physics level 5.13.  Everyone’s an author on the internet...

Kyle - sorry, I’m not gonna engage you via PM about simple physics, but it is simple: 1/2*a*t^2; a = 9.8 m/s/s.  So yeah no to the 5s free fall thing, you gotta fly from a little higher before you get those bragging rights.

Edit: of course that’s free fall in a vacuum, and doesn’t take into account drag but still yeah no.

+1 that the Flatirons are 5.13 if you invert.

Eh, it just takes practice.  I'll bet these guys would cruise it: patagonia.com/web/eu/patago…

Nah, the wideboyz downgraded it to 5.11+ and did it without the bolts.

Are there any betting pools for when this thread will die?

like old lawyers, these threads don’t die. They just lose their appeal.

I appreciate Kyle's enthusiasm. He sought an adventure and found one. I bet he will be more prepared next time.
Most new climbers bore this site to death with how's my anchor..and silly logistics of climbing.  He jumped in head first but lived to climb another day.
Kyle: the botched free solo and granny porn king. 2 thumps up!
