Probably the best thing you can do is to daisy chain it and wash it repeatedly in a front loading washer. I owned one of these and it softened up considerably with several washes. That, I'm sure, also removed the dry coating, which is one of the reasons its so stiff. 

I have one too. Worst rope I’ve ever owned. Hadn’t read anything before I bought it. My partners are being very gracious by allowing me to use it everyday in an attempt to beat the living shit out of it. Either to soften it up or destroy it so I can justify buying a new one. Last time I’m ever skimping on a rope

That nets out to about $60 for a BD UL cam. They're technically "blemish" models which in my experience means the color is a tiny shade off.
