Yosemite - Renting Crash Pads?

Hi all--
I'll be visiting Yosemite next week with 3 friends (for the first time, so stoked!) and we want to boulder one of the days we're there, probably Thursday the 25th. Does anyone have any suggestions about where we can get 2 crash pads? I know that Yosemite Mountaineering School rents them, but they don't accept reservations, and I'd rather not chance it.

Is there anywhere close to the Valley that we could grab a couple? Or borrow from anyone? We'll be staying in Groveland. Ideally we're just renting them for the day, not over a few days. I'd appreciate any suggestions, thanks!

If you don't want to pick them up & keep them for a few days, then the gear shop in the Valley is your only option (unless someone loans you a pad). If you are willing to pick up & keep during your visit, there are a couple spots along the way from SF. Last Minute Gear in SF or check V18 for a pick-up spot along the way.

Thanks for the tips! We didn’t work it out to rent a pad from somewhere, so we’ll try to make some friends in the valley. Cheers!

as per St00pid Taco you really don't need them unless you are high ball bad azzes. There was 50 years of bouldering in el valle before pads.

Shouldn't be too hard, I found some bouldering buddies in Camp 4 last time I tried. Or you can always check the gear shop in the Valley if you haven't yet

I'll be bouldering on Thursday the 25th, probably in camp 4.  Wouldnt mind having a spotter.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
