Apparently now you aren’t allowed to park across from the Suicide trail entrance unless you want to pay the $71.50 parking fee.

That sucks.

Thanks for the heads-up.

How are conditions snow-wise up there??

It was really good, some seepage but mostly clean.

There are signs all over that say No Parking. First time seeing tickets through. Parking on Forest Drive is still good.

That's what you non-locals get for invading our crags!

Literally all over the road. Locals know where the parking is.

Side note OP did you get the ticket on TR on hot buttered rump?

Are these the same tickets that are given for not having an Adventure Pass at Humber? I’m wondering because I’ve heard those are not enforceable.

No these were legitimate tickets for $71.50 (at first I thought they were for the adventure pass) turned out to be an expensive day

It's No Parking there regardless of Ad Pass.

I would think the county Sheriff would use their own cite books, not those of the State Parks

Huh. I've seen the Sheriff kick people out if the park but never seen parks staff do anything but inform people that they can't park there.

I've seen the California State Parks LEOs go all law enforcement all over the hill. Including Forest Dr and Humber area.  Not often, but hell yeah they do.

I too don't think its sheriff.

From what I found out about the ticket is it’s not the sheriffs. Still if you don’t pay it when it’s time to register your car it’s going to cost you a fair share more.

Maybe the sheriff and the parks are in cahoots!?!

Justin S · · Plattsburgh, NY · Joined Feb 2014 · Points: 120

Either way they’ll get theirs from you paid in full. A few extra feet on a hike isn’t to bad 5yrs without one was a good run.

California State park rangers are full on LEO's.  Failure to pay or fight the citation in this case would result in further penalties down the road.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
