My fiance and I are flying out to the valley in about two weeks and would like do a little bouldering while we are there, but since we are flying I would need to rent one. So does anyone know of a place between San Francisco and the valley that rents pads? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I can do you one better...rent a pad in the Valley! The gear shop in Curry Village has some.

You should be good if you're going in 2 weeks, but when I was there this past weekend, the gear shop in Curry Village/Half Dome Village was closed (delayed opening due to storm damage). Looks like it's going to open on the 12th, but you may want to call ahead in case they delay it.

You can pick up v18 pad rentals through bridges rock gym, which is right off the 80 between sf and yosemite! super easy and they're open most hours every day

The Curry Village Mountain shop no longer rents crash pads. It was disappointing to find out when we got there.

We just went through this and the best option we found was the REI in Fresno.  If you're flying into FAT, the REI is very near the highway and en route to Yosemite.  I think we paid $15 for a single pad for a weekend.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
