Going to Aspen this weekend and I'm going to sit out the $$$$ lift-served ski experience. Wondering if Redstone ice is (still?) in? Or are there any mellow turns to be made on my BC skis somewhere in the Roaring Fork? Hell, I'd even settle for snow-shoeing! (I'm guessing it's a tad early to take my road bike....)
I'm from outta town but been in Glenwood Springs for last three weeks. There's no ice in Redstone - wasn't any when I got here. Vail still has ice. I'm sure there's snowshoeing and BC turns (which maybe a real local will reply). No matter what you do BC check - https://avalanche.state.co.us/forecasts/backcountry-avalanche/aspen/
There's rock in Glenwood Springs right at the tunnel and in New Castle.
