Rumbling Bald, Looking Glass, or other - Feb 4 and/or 5

I travel for work and will have Feb 4 and 5 off in Asheville. If weather is good it would be great to climb. I like moderate trad and Rumbling Bald and Looking Glass look to be a good winter spots with a lot available. I've never climbed in the area so I am open to other locals' suggestions. I will not have transportation other than a fold up bike, but can bring rack and rope. Happy to pay for gas and lunch, or give tickets to our show at the Orange Peel. Safe belay and enjoying time outside are most important. Anyone foresee possible availability and interest if the weather is good?

Hi Andy,

I'm in Virginia currently but am considering going down to Asheville this weekend to check it out, do some biking, and climbing if I can find a partner. Tuesday's weather looks very promising. I would be driving down so we would have wheels. As far as type of climbing, I'd be down for easy to moderate multipitch trad. Sounds like Rumbling Bald might be the ticket for that. I'm usually a sport climber as I live out in Bend and call Smith Rock my home but excited to explore out here. Let me know if you're interested.

Bump, weather is looking great, but still searching for a Tuesday partner. I will have wheels if necessary. 

Im free to climb for sure this Tuesday the 5th( possibly Monday) I would prefer to meet you out there but if you can’t find a ride I may be able to come pick you up and we could split gas. I’ll be out camping all week in the area.

I spent the day at rumbling bald today climbing some 5.7/5.8 trad routes. If anyone’s interested let me know. I’m camping near Asheville currently so service is spotty but I’m very flexible for tomorrow and or Tuesday February 5th.
