upper portion of the Hose Monster 1/10/19. I couldn’t get to the base without snow shoes, but i snapped this from 157 with an iphone through some binoculars and it looks pretty fat. has anyone seen it up close lately?

I’ve not seen it up close lately, but last week from the second pull out on the way up to the north loop trail head it looked like this.

The little falls had way more snow on it and was being insulated, looked like this when I showed up on Saturday.
I spent an hour pushing snow up against the wall to block the flow so the water would feed into the snow bank and was able to collapse a significant portion, but with all the snow that is coming down right now as I type this...my efforts were likely futile. When I left

Wow, it was much fatter when i saw it just a few days later, i believe. Little Falls was swamped with snow when i was there as well. Maybe a few thaws and refreezes will turn the snow to some alpine ice.
