DL climbers and the loss of the Barn

Hey guys, just creating this forum because I feel that we should start a conversation about how we can help out the owners of the Barn, perhaps even assist with skills from our community to help the owners. ( I have no idea exactly what that means at this moment in time)  The barn burned Sunday morning.

The barn has been an important part of the DL climbing community, serving as the go to for beer and food after climbing. I was just there Saturday after getting some pitches in at the lake, I know I will miss this establishment and would love to see it resurrected.

Wow, what a bummer. Talk of arson, and the day after a controlled burn? This story smacks of intrigue.

Positive thoughts to the owners.

Hopefully they rebuild, maybe have a grand opening this spring :)

Dang.  They even had the best collection of beer North of Madison. My first thought was "ohh shouldn't be a problem, insurance will pay for it" but then I read that arson is 1 of 2 reasons insurances won't pay out for fire damage.

Which is awful!  I can't believe they can get away with that.  I understand you cant just have people burning down their own stuff all the time for the money but still, there has to be a way around it if you can show that it wasn't your own doing!

If the arson is shown to be set by someone with the intent of collecting insurance. The insurance company will investigate and make a determination.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
