Guide Book for Owens River Gorge?
Best and most recent guide book for this or entire bishop region. |
Bishop Area Rock Climbs and ORG are two different guides. Want to explore a bit up the road? Mammoth, has it's very own freshie available. ORG available copies are scarse, you can find copies for rent at Wilson's downtown Bishop if you're just passing through. Big plans to crush? If you find a used copy, I'd recommend you pick it up as it's true a new edition is coming.... but "soon" is relative. |

Buy the new edition, it just came out and it is sweet. On a slightly different note, the Pine Creek book's release is imminent. |

So how much of the Pine Creek guide is not found in the Croft & Lewis "Bishop Area Rock Climbs"? I already have that, and while I like to support guidebook authors, I am also going to school and living in Tahoe making $11 an hour. |

Guessing about 15% of the routes in the new Pine Creek guidebook are in the old one. Folks wander around lost all the time with the old Bishop book trying to figure out what is what. Well worth the upgrade. |

Thanks for the info, Ryan. Guess I better save my pennies... sigh. |

Sorry Ryan, but Pine Creek has exploded with new routes over the past handful of years with the author, wife and so many others adding in some really cool stuff and new areas the Guide by Tai is what you want! Christmas is coming.... better send a letter to Santa quick! |
