Summit County lodging

Setting some lofty goals for number of days on ice and on skis this winter, and I foresee weekly overnights in Summit County (ski one day, climb the next, etc.). Most of the ski lodging I've found is made for parties of 8, way too expensive, and (worst of all) doesn't allow dogs. I like to drop the fuzzy one off at the Breck Doghouse daycare when I ski/climb, but its much easier on her if I don't abandon her at night, too.

If I can't find a dog-friendly room, I'm not adverse to overnighting in the back of the station wagon as a last resort. Despite my advancing age, I am a total noob at that kind of thing--a tent is more my style (but not in winter, which is why I'm not an alpinist). So, esteemed dirtbags....how does one discover the safe and discreet overnight parking spots?

Thanks in advance, even to those of you who fling snark my way. I can use a good laugh....

Can you still park at the Frisco park and ride in the winter?

seems people consistently overnight at the pullouts along rt 6 on the west side of loveland pass (between a-basin and keystone).

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
