I was up to Chasm today, but I could not see Lambslide, but there was about 1-2ft of unconsolidated powder much of the way so may be very good. Had planned to go farther but the lake is not frozen and it is very tough going in the large talus above the lake. It was a beautiful day and one would think with the nice temps and a freeze thaw cycle some of the ice will grow. It looks impressive but it was obviously hard to tell how thick it is. Looks like a bit chandeliered from the one decent close up I got that turned out. I could not see tracks up there but someone had gone a ways around the lake .

I'm looking for a weekend warrior partner this season. I got started on ice last season, but still have a lot of skill-building to do this winter, so it would be nice if you're looking to take someone under your wing. I come complete with my own gear, willingness to suffer, and some decent humor.
I'd be happy to meet up for some scouting missions the next month to build some rapport before hanging on a rope together.
PM me or reply here -- I'm keeping any eye on this thread for ice updates anyways!

Lincoln is having a great start. Was SUPER thin at the top, scared the shit out of myself. Would not recommend getting on main pillar. The flow to the left was about 1 inch think at the top, mostly hooking on shit.

Climbed the smear the other day. And it was one of the more serious leads I've ever done. Bring the peckers. #2 pecker was a life saver. Top pitch is in great condition however.

Wow great job. I would love to get that in some day but I think it is going to have to be a little thicker than what I see in your picture. How was the hike around the lake?

Depending on conditions with sun/snowmelt if it all adds up here quickly it will fatten up fast and be gone just as fast
I believe I climbed it on like the 6th of October once before get on it if it's in.................

The hike around the lake was typical. A little snow but nothing that will stop you. I imagine you got about a week or so left for the smear.

Some shitty iPhone photos of South Mineral Creek yesterday morning. Too warm for the lower pitches, but things are forming up.
