Chipped cam lobe - fix, toss, or whip?

Whelp, I chipped an edge of a sacred, out of print, green C3.

What’s your opinion? Interested in hearing a discussion about it-maybe it’s hapoened to you?

I haven’t contacted BD yet to see if they’d fix it but I don’t believe they will.

Seems to me that it’s probably still usable, but I’m not sure if the integrity of the rest of the lobe is compromised-would it shatter under an extreme load (ie. 20’ whipper).

Shoot the shit here (no I’m not going to send it to you).

Not a problem. Back on the rack with it.

Only place it center lobe to the right, otherwise it will blow.

With the heat treat on cam lobes, I don’t believe they’ll ever shatter (at normal temps). Don’t quote me, but I think aluminum is very soft and will bend long before it ever brakes.  Hopefully someone with more info will chime in.
