Thank you.

Both are small wired nuts. RPs (the initials of the guy who made them, Roland Pauligk). HB might stand for Hugh Banner? Anyway, both types are brass, with the wires soldered into them to allow them to be made narrower. So, compared to other wired nuts, they fit in shallower placements.

RP: Roland Pauligk the guy who manufactured small brass nuts.

HB: another climbing company who produces small brass nuts.

If a route suggests RP's or HB's bring your small brass nuts and your big pair of nuts god gave you.

I ve now another similar question :
What is exactly the meaning of PG13 . I know it's dangerous fall and less than R, but why PG and why 13 ?

its very subjective, and can mean different things in different areas as well. Generally, PG13 means long falls likely, but not dangerous at the crux. Could also mean runout on easy terrain, with bad fall potential but low fall probability. Could also mean blots 7 feet feet apart. Not really anything to be scared of as long as you are familiar with the climbing style. However, If you are learning to place gear then a PG13 trad route might be not such a good idea.

From the US movie rating system, 'parental guidance for under 13" means no kiddos without parents approving

Climbing 'safety' ratings borrow from the US movie rating system. It's all pretty subjective, just like difficulty ratings. It's climbing after all.

  • Rated G: General Audiences – all ages admitted (safe climbing)
  • Rated PG: Parental Guidance Suggested – some material may not be suitable for children (scary, but probably not too bad)
  • Rated PG-13: Parents Strongly Cautioned – some material may be inappropriate for children under 13 (scary, could get hurt, bad gear or something)
  • Rated R: Restricted – under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian (scary, could get really hurt, probably long runouts and/or bad gear)
  • Rated X: No one under 17 admitted (yer gonna die, basically soloing)

Thank you all ! I was stucked to the only R rating believing it was for "run out".
Now I will be a more clever climber and could impress my friends in France .
It's a funny rating system you have here !
We only say "expo" in France when potential ground or ledge fall is possible .
