I'll be on the South Island for 6 weeks this June and July and I'd like to check out some of the climbing. Other than Castle Hill and Flock Hill, what else is worth checking out. Will Paynes Ford and the climbing around Tataka and Pohara be climbable then. Any tips, suggestions, etc. are greatly appreciated.

June and July tend to be the wet season for climbing in Paynes, but if you do go definitely stay at hangdog which is the NZ equivalent of Miguel's. The money from the campsite goes to bolting and rebolting the lines. The guy who runs the place usually takes off for a month during the off season so contact him at hangdogcamp.co.nz to find out if he will be there when you are.

Also if you are looking for some multipitch sport climbing along the west coast here is a link for the Paparoa guide book http://maps.soliddocuments.com/Paparoa%20Climbs.pdf

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
