Toss another Caddy into this post. The name is fitting. Just like the cars they're named after you'll be plenty comfortable cruising in one all day long, with plenty of room in the trunk for your junk (6 gear loops plus a rated haul loop).

Funny, I always thought of the name as being a negative. Don't know anyone who is into cars or comfort that would choose a Cadillac over the competition.

Does anyone have a take on the Petzl Hirundos? Looking for an all-around harness, but primary is gym and trad. I'm split between this one and the Arcteryx 365...

John Wayne never wore a Petzl harness for Trad. He drove a Caddy. Any more questions? :P

6 gear loops is awesome. You might think you don't need the extra, but you should try. It totally changed my approach to racking up. Gear on the front loops, draws on the rear loops, anchors, prussik, lockers etc. on the bottom ones. It's very clean and organized and has helped improve my trad game significantly. Racking on a shoulder sling is really goofy in comparison. Misty Mountain Cadillac is where its at.

Hirundos is a great harness, but definitely not my choice for trad, or gym climbing for that matter (don’t really feel the need to put a nice, lightweight sport harness through my typical gym abuse). While the harness is definitely comfortable for being minimalist, it’s not something I’d enjoy hanging around in for any extended period of time. Also the gear loops are designed more for a handful draws than a whole rack, IMO.

Misty mountain. Spend a few extra bucks and fall in love. Everything you want in a harness and more.

Then, sometimes, they employed little old lady oompa loompas to hand color the individual "pictures" when Willie Wonka wasn't using them to make chocolate. This was when Sarsaparilla Soda was just a nickel and the Stage only came on Wednesday.

Dude, I just bought a 365 and I’m not a fan. The rear gear loops are too far back so when I look over my shoulder to grab a draw, I can’t see them. Along with that, if you rack anything on those rear loops and climb a squeeze chimney everything grinds on your back. Kind of annoying because I was shooting for lower profile. It is more comfortable and packable (I guess) than my old BD chaos but not worth the price tag unless you only sport climb.

I dont think anyone's mentioned the wild country Summit harness. I've had mine a couple years now and it's holding up great. It's light, inexpensive, as comfy as any other harness ice worn, and it has 7 gear loops and a haul loop. The gear loops are small but there are 7 of them, so it's easy to stay organized. It's very similar to the dmm renegade , but less expensive. I prefer it also be sure the gear loop on tge back is sewn on up high at the top of the waist belt, dmm puts there's at the bottom. A small difference but that's where I put shoes, cordelettes, other bulky stuff... having them higher means less swinging around and annoying hitting on the add. The only drawback to the Summit is that it has only 2 ice flipper slots, and they are too skinny to fit the bd clippers into. Also, it might be nice to have the front loops more rigid for sport climbing but that's trivial, besides, your looking for a trad harness.

I use the Misty Mountain Sonic, love it! Honestly, I never felt a need for more gear loops. I kind of wish it had ice clipper spots; but I use a different harness for ice anyway. I will admit a Cadillac might be more comfortable for hanging belays; however, where I am in the North East hanging belays are not super common, or often avoidable (in terms of complete hanging). Also way more comfy than my previous Petzl Adjama.

Last year i used BD momentum, Eldelrid cyrus and Arcteryx FL365. My favorite is the FL 365, main reasons are the gearloops and comfort while climbing. Hanging belays are a tad more comfortable in the Edelrid but i´m not complaining in the FL. I´ve had the problem with the plastic slipping of some gearloops but that was easily solved by one round of sportstape on that loop that was repeadedly getting loose. I´ve used it for long days with hanging belays and i´t feels nice, like i said before the main benefit are huge loops and the extra one at the back. I spent two days on el cap in it, most belays hanging or semi hanging + hauling and it was comfortable enough for that. Another benefit i found was the slim design when sleeping. I´m a happy costumer.

My $0.02. I have owned a Cadillac, Renegade 2, Big Gun, Xenos, Corax, etc. The most comfortable harness I have ever owned is the Singing Rock Dome. The gear loops are large, and I can fit most of my gear on the Front loops, where I can see the gear. I can get to any gear easily. One caveat, it is a large harness.
