More Gear Loops?

When I have a small pack on, for water, jacket, smokes, beer etc... I use the straps to hang gear on. Great for multi pitch adventureing.

Been tempted by the WC synchro. Will probably look into it for my next harness. Definitely like more loop really estate

Currently rocking a Black Diamond Aspect. It's a fairly lightweight harness and has 4 regular gear loops and one big-ass loop around the back above the haul loop. Easily double the size of a regular gear loop. Works really well for racking my anchor building and rescue gear out of the way. Think the Aspect solves the real estate problem without excess bulk very nicely.

I've tied a line of accessory cord between the back two loops of my Arcteryx harness, to use as a 5th loop. I did that when I climbed the Nose. I thought I had enough space with that. 6 or 7 loops seems excessive.

Add your own gear loops with cord and plastic tubing.   A good cobbler or leather work outfit could do this easlily if you dont have a speedy stitcher

I was really interested in the b360a harness a few years ago.  The loop layout looked like it gave you a lot of real estate without too much overlapping.  I was going to get the misty mountain with 6 loops but they were very narrow and provided the same storage as my 4 loop arcteryx harness.  Local MECs didn't carry the b360a and I wanted to see it before ordering so I never got it.  Was it really that good?

I have the DMM Puma II, 4 regular gear loops, 2 angled rear loops (outside of aid I don’t often use these, but they stay out of the way), and a huge rear haul loop which gets all of my anchor stuff out of the way. I often carry a double rack and 12 trad draws comfortably on this harness. If I really need to load up I’ll chain the cams to make more space 1st set on the harness, next set on the racking carabiners of the 1st, 3rd set on the racking carabiners of the 2nd. Last ones on are the 1st ones placed... same with the draws.

If something is good, more is better.

Extremely kiddish attitude.

There is no need to have more than two front gear loops for gear, two back gear loops for aux items and big pieces, and optional two carytools for pitons and beaks when needed. If you need more gear you'd better step down in difficulty and choose another route.

P.S. An important update. If you have a harness with back gear loop please make yourself a favor. Grab your knife and cut it off. Your vertebral column's sacrum curve will thank you for your kindness. There's absolutely no need to carry any metal shit that close to your vertebral column, believe me or not.

I use a grivel lynx pack with gear loops on the shoulder straps.   You look like a nerd but I love putting my next few placements up in front rather than out at my side.  If you need the extra space the loops that hang low function like second level harness loops.    The pack swings out around front so you can get ur snacks/water/ect without taking the pack off.

Explain?  My rear gear loop hangs low, and the gear is nowhere near my spine...

Sounds like an alpine climber to me.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
