El Chorro Spain Oct 18-March 30

Hey Richard–

My partner and I are going to be coming to El Chorro to climb in December. We are very stoked to get to the area and spend a good week or two getting on some classics. 

We're looking to reserve some accommodations–trying to keep it as cheap as possible. Suggestions? Or, is there anybody out there that would be able to host a couple dirtbags for a night or two? 

Also wondering, is there a definitive guidebook for the area? Thanks so much for starting this thread, super useful!!

not certain on prices but I think camping is 8-9 per night. Olive Branch or Finca. dorms are about 12 p.p., same places. check their websites for actual prices and to reserve. better book soon since all places sell out for most of december including all camping spots

nothing definitive or up to date on guidebooks. Rockfax is 9 years old, being redone for next year. a couple of other guidebooks too but all are old, as far as I know. climbing-lodge.com has some free topos

Planning to get to El chorro on Jan 3rd for a few weeks (or more depending on how things go)...I'll definitely be in need of partners... I'll be in Spain thru mid February and planning to check out other areas as well (chullia, siurana etc). Please message me if you'd like to partner up starting Jan 3rd. I'll go ahead and book some accomodation ASAP; hopefully I'll find something.
