Climbing in castle rock on weekdays for foreseeable future

hey I'm looking for a partner to join me climbing in Castle Rock State Park (in CA, south west of santa clara). I'm game for sport, TR, bouldering and have a rope, rack, draws, and a car. Hoping to get out from work earlyish (4pm) a few times a week to climb before the sun goes down. I'm holding out on a gym membership and hoping to find some climbers to join me on real rock :)

Pretty sure the road to Castle Rock is closed due to a landslide right now?

No, it's open if you're coming from Saratoga (from the north on Skyline Boulevard). I've been up there four times in the last two weeks. I think Skyline Boulevard might be closed south of the parking lot but I'm not sure, I think I've seen some cars coming from that direction (though they could have been turning around).

How long are you planning to get off work early? I don't get back to the bay until early December but i live close castle rock and would be super down!

Want to hit castle rock on Monday? Can meet you in or near Santa Clara around 4 or earlier? I’m flexible. Have shoes and harness but no rope. 5.11 lead, trusty belay. Also pmed

Remember guys, Castle is a state park and closes at sundown. Get out there and climb but keep an eye on the time!

I was thinkingthat as well.  Getting out of work at 4pm with drive time and darkness just after 5pm.

Btw, is anyone interested in weekday trips to the sierras?

Ya for sure.  I have a long break from Dec. 18 - Jan. 12

Keep in mind that Castle Rock needs 48 hours to dry out after it rains. Otherwise you will break off holds. Dec - Feb is typically wet, unreliable, recipe for frustration. Maybe try to talk your local gym into giving you a discount?
