Just leave your dog at home

Absolutely right.  Some idiot had their dog in the Pearly Gates near to top of Mt. Hood at 11,000 feet in April.  It was like 5 degrees F and the dog was running around not on a leash.  It really almost caused a serious accident.  Take your dog on a hike all day long, but if you're climbing a mountain, use your freaking brain and leave your dog at home.

I used a #6 tri cam to chase away a dog once. When the owner began to yell at me I offered to use on him.

No more problems.

Control your dog or someone else will.

Also, I'm not quite following your logic. So the first dog kept the boar from going about its business and quite possibly avoiding your attention entirely, and somehow the second dog making the same mistake brings this all into perspective? Welcome to posting in the forums.

Hi there kind sir. Does anyone understand the force? Anywho, the first dog was unleashed and unattended and clearly out of his owners control at the moment costing him (the dog) his life. The second unattended and unleashed dog may have saved the day or not?? That's the enigma.

Thank you for your kind welcome.

It would have been better if neither dog were there. The boar wasn't going to attack you, as it was hiding in the bushes.

That is a fair question. But I think the real question is: if you leave your dogs at home, who will they be having sex with?

sir, you may have just unraveled the twine of this entire thread. there are essentially 3 camps in this thread; pro-dog a the crag, anti-dog and the sarcastic who gives a shit lets ask about anything and everything. here's a thought, what's with the guy who just posted about what will he gave sex with if the leaves his dogs at home??

The light is now shining.... as I replied to the other kind gentleman there are 3 camps; pro dog at the crag, anti dog at the crag and who gives a shit. the force works in mysterious ways and perhaps my text was convoluted in some regards but the OP decided to apparently rehash an old topic of dogs at the local climbing hole.

Would you feel different knowing the boar was a convicted child molester?

No, it isn't.

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1-800-273-8255

I know you're being snarky, but it's a serious problem that doesn't deserve joking. Suicide became the second leading cause of death among 15-34 yr olds as of 2013.

My dog has been going to the crag longer than 99.9% of the people that come now. So in the words of eddy murphy "He lives here, you are just a guest."

I'm higher on the food chain than your dog. So no.
