Im currently looking at Salewa and Scarpa for the wider fit but I just cant get over these neon orange or green boots. I mean I get you sometimes want bright colors on the mountain for safety reasons but why every boot out there?

Brighter colours make you go faster, it's simple logic

I think Sportiva and Zamberlan still make a few classic looking leather mountaineering boots.

There are a variety of types of crampons, you can put them on anything.

You'll be happier with the bright color options. All of the really good boots are bright yellow, orange and green. Zamberlan has a more understated red, and they make really good boots. I hated the bright colors too when I first started alpine and ice climbing, but I got used to it. Now all of my coats are bright for visibility purposes. Just get over the color and go with a boot that fits your needs and fits your feet. Those are the only 2 things that really matter with boots. Skimp on those for a color you like better and you'll hate yourself the first day out in them. $400-$800 is too much to spend on boots you hate.

I wont be doing ice climbing and I plan to just do more general mountaineering. Gonna look into the Zamberlans, they seem to have a wider fit too which is perfect for me

Look like Zamberlan has a sale on a good boot, the 4000 Eiger. - https://www.zamberlanusa.com/product/9789311/4000-eiger-gtx-rr-mountaineering-boots-black-orange

I actually took my own advice and picked up the Zamberlan Eiger. I tried them on when they arrived and they are easily the most comfortable boots that I own. Including my well broken in La Sportiva Nepals.

Skinny fit, wide fit, low volume, or high volume?

My feet tend to be medium/narrow. But I'm betting these would fit wider feet pretty well too since they felt so comfy on my feet. I wore them with my thickest socks too.

Nice but not insulated I haven't owned a pair in 15 years, tons of outdoor pros use them fire jumpers sar ect. ONLY minor changes over the last decade to the boots which is usually the sign of perfect equipment.

The Salewa Rapace comes in black but has bright laces.

Leave them outside for a while, the colours will fade. My crows are now a nice lightish red.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
