Hello fellow climbers travelling Europe.  I'm going to be in Denmark for work from Aug 19th-Oct 1st and would love to gets on some rock, anywhere really. I'm planning on getting the eurorail pass so I can get to any town where the train goes, and I'm willing to pitch in for a rental car to getting around to various climbing sites.

I will be bringing my trad gear and climb trad comfortably 5.10+ and sport 5.12+, but will climb any grade below and will even push to follow at a higher grade.  I am an AMGA SPI so I'm a safe climber.  I've been climbing for over 15yrs so I'm a little experienced.  I'm planning on bringing a single rack but if someone hits me up with a plan to climb a multipitch I can bring a double rack as well.

Don't be shy throw me a line and we can tie in together, Cheers

-Danny

Hey there! I'm not nearly as experienced, but I just relocated from Montana to Switzerland and I'm looking for climbing partners in Europe! I've only been climbing for around two years, so I'm just around a 5.7-5.9/5.10 sport climber, but I'm comfortable on lead, belay, and rappel. I only have a bit of experience in multipitch back in Montana, but I'm hooked! I have some draws with me, probably will get more soon.

Let me know if you want to make the trip down south, or know of some good routes to travel for!

Hey Mary do you have a way to get around? This weekend I was thinking of heading down to Hannover area, there are some sport climbing location to check out. I'll be heading to Hamburg Friday night and from there can drive in the morning further south to other areas. Where in Switzerland are you located?

I usually just take the train or bus, I live in the very southern tip of Switzerland, in Ticino. I'm not quite up for traveling this weekend, so I'm going to stick within the canton, but I might head up to Germany sometime if there is good sport climbing!

I just realized, that giant dam climbing wall is near Ticino.  If I can find my way to that area would you be down to climb it?

Hi Danny,

I'm working in Montpellier in the south of France until the end of October. Give me a shout if you'd like to climb out here! Amazing rock and a fair bit quieter than nearby Marseille/Calanques. I have all the equipment and a car, and 10+ years of experience on rock. I lead up to 6a+ (mid 5.10) and enjoy a safe belay!

Cheers,

Julia

PS Montpellier has an airport with several budget airline connections.

PPS @Mary - same invite to you!

Hey Julia, I'll look into flying the 22-25 if that works for you.

Awesome, ya that weekend works for me!

Julia, would you be opposed if I flew into Marseille. I could save a couple 100$ that we could use towards hostel, hotel, food, and of course id cover your gas for the difference in driving? Plus I saw there are some sea side limestone cliffs in the area a little further south, multi pitches, that would be really beautiful to climb.  Let me know, if I don't hear from you tonight I will buy tickets to Montpellier tonight.

if you're looking at flying for a couple weekends my site, climbcation.com might help you. Put in your airport in the filter, move the map to europe(so that it filters specifically by locations on that map), and pick the months to filter by season.

this'll give you one-way flight costs(if the records exist) to some good europe destinations so you can find cheap places to explore.
