Hi there amigos, im going to Yosemite Valley for the first time this weekend (aug sat 26- mon 28) short trip but better than nothing, so im looking for some route suggestions considering the weather, the number of climbers  i could find, etc.

Partners and current situation:We are  4-5 Mexican dudes,  1 or 2 of them wont be able to climb something steep or long and wouldn't mind to have just one day of climbing or hiking. 4 years and 15 kilos ago i used to climb 5.13a sport and 5.10s trad, now  its  a different history  i haven't climb like in a year.

We are looking for good pro climbs and moderates. i might consider for a second day some multipitch like royal arches, or something , pls give me your thoughts.

Cheers

pretty much everything in this book is worth doing: http://www.supertopo.com/packs/yofreeclimbs.html

just pick your poison and have at it! weekends are always busy, so be flexible and relaxed and you'll have a good time. enjoy :)

Lol, 5.13 sport but now it's different because it's been a year and you gained some weight? That's a bit vague. Add that to the two climbers who can't do anything long. What does long mean to you? Are you looking for climbs with the two noobs or climbs to do without the two noobs while they hike around for the day?

Who knows. Sunny side bench would be a fun thing for the noobs but boring for you. Royal arches is doable for noobs but it's certainly too long.

Probably your best bet is going to be the cookie sheet for the morning and then harder climbs in the same area in the afternoon. Except it'll be hot and you'll hate it. So never mind that.

Tuolumne will have better weather and plenty of fun to be had on stately pleasure dome for all of y'all.

Let us know a bit more specifics about what you want and what YOU think you're capable and your group is capable of and then we'll just post that all you need to do is go onto the Yosemite valley page on mountainproject, click the "best climbs for you" button and renter those details there instead.

Keep sun exposure and approach in mind cause it'll be hot this weekend. Also, don't plan on climbing in one part of the valley in the morning and another in the afternoon unless you like sitting in your car on the loop for an hour or more in traffic because they shut down the right lane on weekends

Hi James, your biggest issue by far is going to be the heat and the sun. Next issue will likely be the traffic.

Your best bet might be the Church Bowl area. From the campgrounds, it's easy to get there on the shuttle, and even with the cliff in the sun, there are a bunch of large trees, so you can escape to the shade between climbs. There are a couple of 5.7 ish crack climbs on the left, a 10a bolted route, some other nice gear protected lines in the 10 range and a couple of 5.11 sport routes. All of these are to the left of Bishops Terrace. You can set up topropes for your friends on some of the stuff but you may need two ropes.  Good luck.
