Can a cam be reslung with cordage?

I'm curious if a flexible can be reslung with cordage? If so any recommendations on the how to? |

Sure BITD we used cord tied with a double fisherman's knot. |

They can, but it might result in a loss of strength depending on what style/manufacturer of the cam. Here is a link to a handy BD article about sling replacement on their cams, a similar logic could be applied to other cams of similar design (thumb loop). Although the old style Camalots (pictured above) look like there would be little to no issue with using cord, especially if its Titan cord which that appears to be. |

Different places will resling your cams with sewn webbing too. |

Yates Gear will resling your cam with single or double slings, although Gunkie's Camalot doesn't have enough room to resling with a double-loop sling (I had a bunch of Metolious Power Cams reslung with double-loops by Yates and found I extended the loops frequently to get a cam to hang over a lip properly). Here's my "vintage" 4.5 Camalot reslung by Yates, which didn't have enough room to sling with a double-loop: |
