An old Goldline would probably be worth something, but that neon green is completely lacking in the classiness department.

Hey, didn't Petzl have a neon green rope out just a year or so ago? Is it already out of 'style' too? I'd make something out of the Chouinard rope, or hang it as artwork in the climbing gallary at home.

Chouinard went out of business more than 20 years ago. Even under ideal storage conditions, I wouldn't risk a lead fall on it. Also, its 11mm. That's stupid fat.

That would be a nice color for a rug...

I'd hang onto it--it might be worth something to a collector in the future.

Do NOT climb with it.

The 10 or 10.5 super light single lead line released around 1986 met UIAA test standard. I retired it after 2 falls >30'&&<50'. It had some test falls between, all <16'.

Unused and in original bag suggests real collector value.  But it's ultimately only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.  Maybe EBay it with a high reserve?

The super light also came with a bag that had a mountain picture on it.

You raised a thread that was dead in 2011....     thus you are a thread necromancer. Sorry you couldn't follow

I Googled the rope and came across this thread. No need to be it was never on a to do list either way.

Probably made by a French Company

Probably. I also had a Chouinard bod harness. I forgot he was into pitons more than synthetics.

I vaguely remember that Chouinard ropes of that era were made by PMI.  Could be wrong tho.
